New Delhi or New Jersey?
If you scroll down after this scene shot from a taxi ride to this place, you will be surprised to see...
タクシーから撮ったこの写真以下をスクロールするとおどろくと思う...
This shopping mall called Select Citywalk. It is like a big mall in New Jersey.
なぜならこのセレクト・シテイーウォークという巨大ショッピングモールはまるでアメリカのモールみたいだから！
Seriously, I never thought I would find Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in New Delhi.
このコーヒーショップだってニューデリーで見つけるとは思わなかった！
A break from curry flavored food: Italian grilled vegetable sandwich
カレー味から解放のひととき
I honestly cared less about the whole mall experience but my main motive was to check out this shop, Good Earth. They're located at few other places in Delhi but I wanted to avoid walking in the rain today and so decided to check this shop first.
このショッピングモールは全く興味の対象ではなかったのだけど、目的はガイドブックに載っていたこのお店をチェックするためでした。デリーには数店舗あるみたい。でも今日は雨に濡れたくなかったのでまずはこの店舗にきてみました。
And as soon as I went in, I fell in love with the store! They have 3 floors of really nice styling and high quality home decor/ house products that are a bit expensive for Indian standard but would be reasonable in Tokyo and elsewhere. I wish I was able to shoot more pictures, here's one shot before I was asked not to. The collection of dinner plates and bed linen are all wonderful and just walking in the store made me completely forget that I was in a big shopping mall ;-)
そしてこのお店に入るなりお気に入りになってしまった！もっと写真を撮りたかったのだけど、これはNGと言われる前の一枚。ほんとうにステキで洗練されたホーム・デコレーションやプロダクト/雑貨がたくさんあって、３階建てのお店を歩いてまわると楽しくて巨大ショッピングモールにいることを忘れてしまいましたー
And back to the mega shopping mall..
To the grocery store or the Food Bazaar that had all basic things and also a very tiny corner of Japanese food products like ponzu, wasabi, soy sauce etc...
そしてまた巨大モールの世界へ。
こんなスーパーがありました。一通りのものがそろっていて、ぽん酢やみりん、ワサビ、すし飯の元のような食材も置いてありました。
I'm still staying at a hotel with no kitchen so I didn't shop much groceries. Maybe next time.
まだキッチンのないホテル暮らしなので食材のお買い物はあまりできなかったけれど、それはいつかまた今度。

Hotel Room
The room has a curtain...
...but no window.
I tried moving to a room with a window and with a view but it faced a big highway road filled with traffic and constant hoking noise. This window-less room is actually a better deal at this hotel. Hard to tell the weather outside but I can sleep quietly at night.
窓と景色のある部屋に移ろうとしたけれど、いつも渋滞のハイウェーを面してクラクション騒音がひどかった。このホテルでは窓のない部屋がベターみたい。外の天気を知れないけれど、夜は静かに眠れる。
...but no window.

Unloading
Here's a scene shot just outside the hotel entrance this morning going to work. It rained a little today and the temperature was nice and low.
今朝オフィスに行く前にホテルの入り口から撮ったシーン。
今日は雨がシトシト、気温も低め。

おじさんと自転車のカート
looks damn heavy! what's inside?!
とっても重そう！何が入ってるの？！
He unloaded a whole bunch of vegetables! must be for the hotel kitchen!
ものすごい量の野菜を出したよー ホテルの食材だね！

The Delhi office
So here is a little tour of the Delhi office.
This is the entrance way...
ちょっとしたデリーオフィスのツアー
こちらが入り口で、、
walking down the path...
そこを歩いて行くと、、、、
down the slope...
坂道を下って、、
and out to the green yard...
広い芝生のお庭が見えてくる、、
and just where the man came walking from leads into the building..
おじさんが歩いてできたところが建物に通じて、、
walk down the corridor...
廊下を歩いて、、
and here it is!
着きました！
right at the reception is a red horse and the wall that says: "work is worship"
受付のすぐ入ったところに赤い馬と"work is worship"の壁がある。
made with pencils. Reminds me of the Tokyo office nail wall from GGG.
しかも全部えんぴつでできてる。東京オフィスがGGGでやったnail wall 思い出すなぁ
And to the left of the reception is the art gallery space. (no art now)
受付に向かって左にはアート・ギャラリーのスペース
once inside, the office looks like this:
オフィスの中はこんな感じ：
this is my work area with my mac.
ここが私の席＆マック
just behind my left side is this lounge area.
ちょうど座っている席の左斜め後ろにこんなラウンジがある
And outside again, right by the front yard is where you can get coffee and snacks and a big table where people have lunch.
そしてまた外にでると、庭のすぐ側にお茶くみ場とみんなここでランチ食べたりしている
There are a few more spaces that I haven't been able to shoot which I will update again one day. Overall, this is what the Delhi office is like. They say there are about 60 people working here and I wonder why it doesn't feel crowded at all!
あと数カ所まだ写真に撮りきれていない場所はまた後日アップの予定。でもデリーオフィスは何となくこんな感じ。約６０人いるらしいけど、ぜんぜん混んでいる感じはしないのはなんでだろう！
