Spreading Positivity

I never knew about the Commonwealth Games until I came to Delhi, it's an international sport event that is held every 4 years, much like the Olympics. And this time it is held here in New Delhi, starting from 10/3 to 10/14. But apparently there had been a lot of negative press and media surrounding the CWG and many people were concerned about the cause of bad traffic, the scare of dengue fever, the sport facilities not constructed in time etc. etc. But to put an end to negativity in the press, some people at the agency put together WE positive to spread positivity around the Commonwealth Games. By the way, the tiger you'll see is called Shera and he's the mascot of the CWG. It's kind of fun. Take a look.

コモンウェルスゲームズ(CWG)をデリーに来るまで知らなかったけれど、それはイギリス連邦に所属する国が４年ごとに参加するオリンピックの様なスポーツ大会らしいです。今年は10/3 から10/14までここニューデリーで開催される予定。ただ、どうやらデリーの渋滞やデング熱の心配、施設の建築が間に合わないなど、これまで大会に関するメディアやプレスはネガティブなものが多かったらしいのです。そんなネガティブなプレスは止めようと、職場のチームが集まってWE positiveを立ち上げてCWGをポジティブに盛り上げていく企画を考えました。この映像に出てくるトラはシーラといってCWGのマスコットだそうです。ちょっと見て楽しんでください。

Double birthdays

We have at least a few birthdays every month. This day was a double birthday, double cake!
毎月誰かの誕生日を何回かお祝いしてます。この日はダブル・バースデー、ダブル・ケーキ！

Gallery Opening

The Delhi office had a gallery opening (there's a nice gallery space at the office) on Saturday night. The exhibition was on a London based graffiti artist Xenz.
土曜日にデリーオフィスでギャラリーのオープニングがありました。（オフィスにギャラリースペースが隣接されてる）今回はロンドンのグラフィティーアーティストXenzの展示でした。

Still Monsoon

This morning the weather was nice and sunny but it started to rain and thunder heavy in the afternoon. We've had pretty mild weather and since it's already September I thought monsoon would be over soon but I guess not.
今朝は晴れていい天気だったのに、久々に午後にまたはげしいどしゃぶりと雷
最近は晴れの日が続いてたしもう９月だからそろそろモンスーンは終わるかなっと思ったけどまだ続くみたい

Birthdays

Just like the Tokyo office, the Delhi office has the tradition of celebrating staff birthdays with cakes. This is my 4th week and I've already had 5 birthday cakes! The chocolate cake is not too sweet and really good.
東京オフィスと同じようにデリーオフィスでもスタッフの誕生日をケーキでお祝いします。ここに来て４週間なのに、もうすでに５階もバースデー・ケーキを食べてます！チョコレートケーキも甘すぎないで結構おいしい！

Lunch at work

Unlike the Tokyo office where there are many places to eat out for lunch, people here at work usually bring their own from home or order-in. I shared 3 kinds of curry, rice, naan, and chapati with 3 people. It only cost 50 rupees /100 yen per person.
外でランチを食べるところがたくさんある東京オフィスとちがって、こっちのオフィスの人たちは家からお弁当をもってくるか、出前をたのんでます。この日は３種類のカレー、ライス、ナンとチャパティを３人で頼んで分けました。お腹いっぱい食べてもランチ代、1人100円もしなかった。

Monsoon

The weather had been nice with only occasional showers since I got to Delhi and they say it's monsoon season. But the rainfall and thunder that lasted for about an hour this afternoon really felt like monsoon!
モンスーンの季節だと言われているのにデリーに来てからの天気はたまに雨がシトシト降る程度で比較的よかった。でも午後に１時間くらい降った雨は雷と一緒にバケツから水をひっくり返したようで本当にモンスーンな感じだった！

This is the studio space, just opposite of where the reception entrance is.

And here's a little meeting room next to the studio. I love the navy dining table and chairs, and Dan's portrait on the wall!
ここはスタジオの隣にあるちょっとしたミーティングルーム。紺色のダイニングテーブル＆イス、そしてダンワイデンの肖像画がかわいい！


These portraits of the staffs are painted by an artist in Rajasthan. I love them!
スタッフの肖像画はラジャスタン州にいるアーティストが描いたそう。すごくいい！

The Delhi office

So here is a little tour of the Delhi office.
This is the entrance way...

right at the reception is a red horse and the wall that says: "work is worship"
受付のすぐ入ったところに赤い馬と"work is worship"の壁がある。

しかも全部えんぴつでできてる。東京オフィスがGGGでやったnail wall 思い出すなぁ

And to the left of the reception is the art gallery space. (no art now)

just behind my left side is this lounge area.

And outside again, right by the front yard is where you can get coffee and snacks and a big table where people have lunch.
そしてまた外にでると、庭のすぐ側にお茶くみ場とみんなここでランチ食べたりしている


There are a few more spaces that I haven't been able to shoot which I will update again one day. Overall, this is what the Delhi office is like. They say there are about 60 people working here and I wonder why it doesn't feel crowded at all!

あと数カ所まだ写真に撮りきれていない場所はまた後日アップの予定。でもデリーオフィスは何となくこんな感じ。約６０人いるらしいけど、ぜんぜん混んでいる感じはしないのはなんでだろう！
